METAL HALIDE and HIGH PRESSURE SODIUM full spectrum lights are the best indoor grow lights.  They create the most intense, broad-spectrum light for excellent plant growth, budding and flowering.

 

 

METAL HALIDE SYSTEMS
Ideal for good, rapid plant growth.
Broad light spectrum closest to tropical sun.
Excellent for seed starting and cuttings.

 

 

HIGH PRESSURE SODIUM SYSTEMS
Increase budding and flowering by 30%
Most intense light; highest number of lumens.
High in orange and red of the light spectrum.

 

Fluorescent Lights are inefficient for fast, healthy plant growth.  They are especially weak for flowering since they supply only a small portion of the light intensity of Metal Halide or High Pressure Sodium lights.

Fluorescents are also too costly, require too much electricity, and give only modest results.  Low Pressure Sodium Lights are not recommended for plants due to their narrow yellow spectrum.

What Wattage Light And How Many To Use?

Use 20 watts per square foot (ideally 25 watts) to get excellent results.

For example:
10 ft. x 10 ft. = 100 sq. ft. x 20 watts = 2000 (use two 1,000 watt lights)
7 ft. x 7 ft. = 49 sq. ft. x 20 watts = 980 (use one 1,000 watt light)

For small areas (up to 4.5 ft. x 4.5 ft.) use one 400 watt light.

For very small areas (2 ft. x 2 ft.), or for cuttings, seedlings, side lighting use a Mini-Horizontal System (MH 250w, MH 175 w, or HPS 150w)

SOME TECHNICAL LIGHTING INFORMATION

No bulb can be plugged directly into ordinary house current without a ballast.  Metal Halide and High Pressure Sodium bulbs require different ballasts to operate.

Type of bulb and its wattage must match the ballast, e.g., Metal Halide 400 watt bulb can only be used with a Metal Halide 400 watt ballast, High Pressure Sodium 1000 watt bulb can only be used with a High Pressure Sodium 1000 watt ballast, etc.

Only one bulb can be used with each ballast.

Each 400 watt system uses less than 5 amps of electricity at 120 volts.
Each 1000 watt system uses less than 10 amps of electricity at 120 volts.

All light systems are wired for standard 100-120 volt house current.
240 volt systems are available on request.

All Light Systems have a 5 year warranty; Bulbs one year.
